Zoo 02:59
Zoo I’ve got a zoo inside me, I’ve got creatures from A to Z, if you see me returning home, you’d better know I’m not alone. I’ve got a reptile in my blood, and a mammal who lives for love, and a human who lives for meaning, meaning tell me what it means? When my little life is off the tracks, I feel i’m under full attack, swimming upstream day by day, and by night I drift away. I’ve got a black man in my dreams, and red men whose eyes have seen, buffalo and mercantile systems, in the killing fields. I know the rain must fall, (the rain’s falling, the rains keep falling down) I know the big grow small, (the bigger they come the harder they fall down) I know we’re part of it all. Just the same I feel the pain, of poison in my veins, the fish in me can not explain, progress called acid rain. My bumblebee has been deflowered, my panther has been devoured, my evergreen counts the hours, till straw men waste the might towers. I know the rain must fall, (the rain’s falling, the rains keep falling down) I know the big grow small, (the bigger they come the harder they fall down) I know we’re part of it all. ‘Cause I’ve got a zoo inside me, I’ve got creatures from A-Z, if you see me returning home, you’d better know I’m angry not alone. You’d better know I’m wounded but not alone, You’d better know I love you, but I’m not alone, I’m not alone. ©words and music by paul clarke

Steady 03:19
Steady Here I am and here we are Here I am and here we are On the road again here we are grid locked on public land in private cars sing along with our favorite song even though we got it wrong we trash the forest make the trees come down we want more the pedal to the floor we won’t slow down Steady, steady Gonna drive on easy street and arrive but never meet on common ground radio love song in our ear we stop for gas then disappear to trash the forest make the trees come down to make a road no matter where it goes we won’t slow down Steady, steady I’m starting to feel unreal when I hear the things that people do in my name I’m starting to shake like a big mistake like a leaf in a tree when a desperate man cuts away at me In the car I said a prayer, she said, “Get out of there that’s not my god.” on the road to power and glory every hour we change our story and trash the forest I don’t want to die in a traffic jam on yellow line cause there aint’ no land to bury me people on the road will pass me by I’ll lay like a dead dog catching flies I trashed the forest made the trees come down I wanted more my pedal to the floor I wouldn’t’ slow down Steady, steady, I’m starting to feel unreal when i hear the things that people do in my name I’m starting to shake like a big mistake like a leaf in a tree when a desperate man cuts away at me Honestly love requires me to grow up but to step into reality when courage don’t come easily is like standing in a forest when I don’t know what to do so I throw my heart wide open looking for a clue Steady, steady, Here I am and Here we are Here I am and here we are Steady. ©words and music by paul clarke

Sunset on Monhegan He sits in silence listening to the stillness underneath his skin deep beneath the waves he holds a paintbrush mixes watercolor on a piece of paper on a summer day Oh oh oh, the sun setting over the ocean oh oh oh he’s painting the world in slow motion I feel the sunlight flowing through his fingers I see the garden through his eyes in the dark night his summer lingers the ground is hard his paint is dry Oh sunset on Monhegan and the garden behind Carina’s House oh sunrise on Monhegan the buoys beside the fish house Back in the city everyone is busy cross at the green lights rush through the red i see red apples flowing sea of green leaves growing on brown branch sunlight overhead Oh oh oh the sun setting over the ocean he’s painting the world in slow motion One year in August everyone was happy nobody was angry everything was beautiful oh, oh, oh ©lyrics and music by paul clarke

Like You Never Died When I forget how to live and how to love and don’t know what to do I let control go and give my soul over to you. I was sitting in the mist, by the waves in the sea and the sun was shining on me and the rhythm of the tide and the rolling ride there’s no where else I’d rather be than right here by your side it’s like you never died. Got sand in my toes and the four winds blow and the sky’s wide open above me I’m taking it slow, going with the flow and now I know you love me you’re right here by my side it’s like you never died. I can see you. I wonder if you see me too? I can hear you. I wonder if you hear me too? there’s a question I’d really like to ask of you are you happy after what life made of you? The sun will go down and I’ll head back to town and I won’t tell a soul about it ‘bout the magic I found when you’re around now I’ll never doubt it you’re right here by my side it’s like you never died. When I forget how to live how to love and don’t know what to do I let control go and give my soul over to you. ©words and music by paul clarke

Plan C 02:18
Plan C I made a little plan b cause plan a wasn’t working for me it never occurred life threw me a curve and now i need plan c Finding out who i am i’m really not a planning man but i’m deep in the weeds if i want to succeed i got to reach out with both hands Sing about life, sing about love sign about stars above sing about love, sing about life sing about a world full of strife What if plan c is a bust just some ashes and a pile of dust will I decree to make a plan d or give up in disgust? What would i do with plan d if i gave up security if i was up side down with no one around would I have the heart for plan e? I made a little plan b cause plan a wasn’t working for me it never occurred life threw me a curve and now i need plan c A,b,c,d,e,f,g I hope I never need plan z. ©music and lyrics by paul clarke

May Peace Prevail May peace prevail may peace prevail Celebrate traditions in new ways may peace prevail on Earth May peace prevail may peace prevail Father Time gives us time to choose Mother Earth will comfort you What’s wrong with us today? what’s wrong with us today? we’re filled with hate and fear what’s wrong with us today? what’s wrong with us today? it’s a never ending story of love and fear May peace prevail may peace prevail Celebrate traditions in new ways may peace prevail on Earth, on Earth May peace prevail on Earth. ©music and lyrics by paul clarke
