Boing ga Boing ga Boing
04:41
|
|||
Boing ga Doing ga Doing ga Boing
I was sitting in my room, feeling gloomy,
reading Rumi, I opened up the window .
The curtains went a 'twitchin’, she flew into the kitchen,
with home-made Turkish Taffy and made a cup of coffee.
I went, “Boing ga Doing ga Doing ga Boing…
She said, “You look so gloomy, reading Rumi,
why don't you take a broom and sweep your room.
On the floor you’ll find a door, if you enter it
you will see what Rumi saw.
A Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls,
in your room you got a Taj Mahal.
You got the Queen of Sheeba, and Santa Maria,
in your bed you got Sacagawea.”
“Boing ga Doing ga Doing ga Boing…
I’ll be the guide
for your soul
underwater where the whole truth is full of holes
I’ll be the guide
for your soul
call me Maya, Mahamaya, Maya World
“Boing ga Doing ga Doing ga Boing…
She said, “Your fence is broken, your God is loose,
it seems to me you cooked your goose,"
then she took her coffee and home-made Turkish Taffy
the curtains went a 'twitchin' she flew back out the kitchen
“Boing ga Doing ga Doing ga Boing…

Jesus and Lincoln
03:13
|

Jesus and Lincoln
Jesus and Lincoln has got me thinking
about education for the rest of the nation
‘cause the next generation is here, and we have no fears...
Jesus Lincoln Jesus
...'Cause I am like a seed that will grow with positivity and the love that you know...
Jesus and Lincoln were at the coffee shop
talking about education and the race to the top
Lincoln asked Jesus what he thought about the plan
Jesus said, “Frankly, I really don’t understand…
incarcerating children, conditioning their minds
You say children first, but then you leave them behind,
you leave the children behind.
...When you leave them behind they got no time to shine...
Lincoln said, “Slavery ended during the Civil War,
I taught myself to read and write with candles on the floor.”
Jesus said, “I never wrote a line or a book,
yet you find the word of God everywhere you look.
Defining education as four walls in a school
is like confining the ocean to a swimming pool–
you put the ocean in a swimming pool.”
...And I’m trying to swim up the current...
Lincoln issued pardons for soldiers who were deserting.
Jesus offered mercy to children who were hurting.
They said the food they eat is from the table we set
children deserve better than they get.
The Almighty God works in mysterious ways,
suffer the little children don’t turn them away.
Jesus and Lincoln were drinking and thinking about kids in school.
...We need to motivate and generate positivity
‘cause it’s all the love that you’ve given me.
And I am rooted like a living tree
‘cause it is how I live and breathe…
Jesus Lincoln Jesus
…and I want to succeed.
I’ve got the need to be and believe my dreams
as I’m feeling like one of a kind...
Then the bill came they split it and walked into the night
Jesus turned left and Lincoln turned right.
Back they went from whence they came,
to the truth zone beyond success and fame.
The Almighty God works in mysterious ways,
suffer the little children don’t turn them away.
Jesus and Lincoln were drinking and thinking about kids in school
(You know this got me thinking)

Rubbernecking
03:17
|
|||
Rubbernecking
Are you rubbernecking for me lately
hypnotized by flashing lights?
Are you checking our the wreckage baby
ringside at splashy fights?
Get away, I’ve got to live my life today
don’t want to give my life away
Away, I’ve got to live my life today
don’t want to give my life away.
She’s home waiting for you.
You said you are alone.
So why you rubbernecking round my corner
like a dog without a bone?
Get away, I’ve got to live my life today
don’t want to give my life away
do you want this love to drag me down?
don’t want no love to drag me down.
Scorch the Earth with fire burn the ground
steal the hook and ladder truck away.
What are you doing to me today?
What are you really trying to do me?
You belong to Marilyn Monroe.
You cheat on the town and you brag and you clown.
Why’d you shoot me down that way?
Are you thinking of another lady?
Are you speaking for some other man?
Do you want my loving soft or crazy?
Do you get it while you can?
Get away, I’ve got to live my life today
don’t want to give my life away
get away, I’ve got to live my life today
don’t want to give my life away.
You better stop rubbernecking for me
and turn your rubbernecking neck around.

Explosion of Love
02:24
|

Explosion of Love
We want to go viral, we want to go wide
We want to go deep to the other side
We want to go viral, we want it to spread
We want to sing from our hearts and our heads
We want it to spiral into your soul
We want to take the broken pieces
And make them whole make them whole, make them whole
We want an explosion of love
An explosion of love
An explosion of love to heal the world
We want to be wiser, want to be wiser,
we want to be kind, want to be kind
We want to be true, want to be true
to whatever we find, whatever we find
We want to be honest, want to be honest
we want to be real, want to be real
We want to know what we think and how we feel
We want to be bolder we want to sing from our souls
We want to take the broken pieces
And make them whole, make them whole
We want an explosion of love
An explosion of love
An explosion of love to heal the world
We want an explosion of love
An explosion of love
An explosion of love to heal the world,
to heal the world, to heal the world

Map of the World
02:30
|

Map of the World
West 83rd Street is the busiest street in New York City
the guys are all handsome and the girls are all pretty
mommies bring their babies in their strollers to see the firemen
and the firemen’s dog, ruff!
The mailmen and the sanitation
got a door to door to door situation
Express Mail delivers 24/7 hours a day
three 24 hour garages and a biker bar for starters
and a kid’s museum
I spent my boyhood lying on the floor
my family wondered what I was down there for
I said go away and leave me while I draw
my Map of the World
I drew mountains that reached up in the sky
and fountains that breached in deserts dry
and lots of pretty women passing by
my Map of the World
but something happened when I grew up
all the boundaries got real screwed
even pretty women threw up
on my map of the world
on my map of the world
on my map of the world…
Now when I come home late at night
emergency lights are flashing bright
everything’s wrong but it’s all right
in my Map of the World
my Map of the World
my Map of the World

I don't wanna like You
02:06
|
|||
i don’t want to like you (rise and shine divine)
I don’t like you ‘cause you scare me
and you take me away from my home
I don't want to like you you scare me to the bone, bbbbone, bone
everything about you takes me away from my job and my home
you’re throwing pebbles at my window on a rainy day
you're gonna get me in trouble why don’t you go away
When i see the world through your eyes it always makes me cry
I see the kissing that I’ve been missing and I want to follow my bliss
and rise and shine, rise and shine, rise and shine
No, I don’t want to Facebook, or call you on my phone
and twittering on my laptop makes me feel alone
yes, it’s your body and your psyche’s in my soul
i wonder looking in the mirror am I on cruise control?
when I see the world through your eyes it always makes me cry
i see my cruelty and I am guilty
and i see my innocence rise and shine, rise and shine divine, rise and shine
when i see the world through your eyes
it always makes me smile
i see the kissing that I’ve been missing
and i want to follow my bliss
and rise and shine, rise and shine, rise and shine divine
i don't want to like you you scare me to the bone.

The Heart has Reasons
02:55
|

The Heart has Reasons
Me and you never let go our hands
when we walked down the street
when we went to bed we locked our feet
(you could have been someone but you talked to yourself)
so sweet, so sweet,
(you could have been someone but you signed out)
Me and you had a lot of things to do
we were always making plans
we’d rush to the newspaper stand
to read the morning news
wearing each other’s shoes
My jacket was small enough for you
your pockets were big enough for two
The heart has reasons the head knows not
though my hands were freezing my love was hot
The heart has seasons head knows not
though my feet were freezing my love was hot
for you, I cry for you
My jacket was small enough for you
your pockets were big enough for two
You and me never fought or disagreed
maybe we should have
maybe we’d still be listening, still be kissing and glistening
My jacket was small enough for you
your pockets were big enough for two
For you, for you,
The heart has reasons the head knows not
though my hands were freezing my love was hot
The heart has seasons head knows not
though my feet were freezing my love was hot
For you, for you,
The heart has reasons the head knows not
though my hands were freezing my love was hot
The heart has seasons head knows not
though my feet were freezing my love was hot
for you.

Everyone's a Star
03:04
|
|||
Everyone’s a Star
A time to celebrate ‘ cause it’s beautiful
A time to celebrate with all your heart
Who will humankind destroy–the dark sister or the golden boy?
Everyone’s a star walking on the Earth
Everyone has scars talking about self-worth
How did my oil get beneath your sand?
excuse me there’s blood on my hands
seven nuclear missiles for each man
even Buddha wouldn’t understand
Everyone’s a star dying on the Earth
everyone has scars trying out their worth
Who would Mother Mary subdue,
the Shites, the Kurds or the Jews?
A billion dollars every single day
the latest bombs are coming your way
Everyone’s a star living on the Earth
Everyone has scars giving all they’re worth
One divided nation under god
Enron’s gone that’s odd
economic hardship across the land
beat the war drums and join the band
Everyone’s a star walking on the Earth
Everyone has scars talking about Earth worth
Celebrate the Earth ‘cause it’s Beautiful
Clean up all your dirt ‘cause your dutiful
Celebrate the Earth ‘cause it’s Beautiful
Clean up all your dirt ‘cause your dutiful
A time to celebrate ‘ cause it’s beautiful

Butterfly Dream

Butterfly Dream
I’m a swimmer in the sea by the Laura B
I don’t know where the tide is taking me
I ain’t been here before I’m going shore to shore
Don’t know if I’m awake or if I’m dreaming
If you see me swimming by and have it in you won’t you stop and smile with me
If you want to catch up with me I’d love to help you but I can’t slow down you see
I’m a butterfly in a storm in a hurricane
I don’t know where the wind is taking me
I’m running out of power I’m going flower to flower
Don’t know if I’m awake or if I’m dreaming
If you see me flutter by and have it in you won’t you stop and smile with me
If you want to catch up with me I’d love to help you but I can’t slow down you see
Last night I dreamt I was a flutter butterfly
Today I don’t know if I am a man who dreamt he’s a butterfly
Or a butterfly dreaming he’s a man
I’m ship wrecked on a shoal in my soul
I don’t know where the waves are crashing me
Lying on my side in the turning tide
Coming going see the sailboats flowing
If you see me sailing by and have it in you won’t you stop and smile with me
If you want to catch up with me I’d love to help you but I can’t slow down you see
Last night I dreamt I was a flutter butterfly
Today I don’t know if I am a man who dreamt he’s a butterfly
Or a butterfly dreaming he’s a man
A flutter butterfly who’s a man

Talk to your Mother
03:39
|
|||
Talk to your Mother
Call now it’s never to late.
call now it’s never to late
it’s never too late
it’s never too late to talk to your Mother.
Little Vikki put her Victrola in the stroller
and pushed on down the avenue.
There were cats on the sidewalk and birds in the air
and a homeless woman put a yellow feather in her hair,
in her hair.
The homeless woman at the garbage can
fumbled with a rotary phone in her hand.
The telephone rang and she put it in her ear
and a voice said, “My baby, what you doin’ here?”
She said, “Oh God! That’s my mother.”
“Hold on Mommy, there’s someone on the line.
I got call waiting though I ain’t got a dime.”
She said, “Hello who is it? What can I do for you?”
A voice said, “I’ve been watching you for a long, long time.”
And the voice said, “Talk to your Mother. Talk to your Mother.
It’s never too late. It’s never too late to talk to your Mother.
“Talk to your Mother. Talk to your Mother.
It’s never too late. It’s never too late to talk to your Mother."
She said, “Mama help me I’m underfed.
Eating from cans. Living in the red.
Sleep in parks when it’s light
I’m scared to close my eyes at night.
My dreams have taken a nasty turn
I’ll never change, I’ll never learn,
I don’t even know a good man’s name.”
She said, “Mama I love you.” The phone went dead.
A voice said, “Five more cents.” Instead
she fumbled in her pocket, but didn’t have a dime.
She asked for a quarter, but no one had time.
She said, “Operator will you take a can?
It’s worth a nickel try and understand?".
She was jamming the can in the telephone ear
when Little Vikki said, “What are you doing here?”
She said, “Talking to my mother. I was talking to my mother.
It’s never too late. It’s never too late to talk to your mother.
Talk to your Mother. Go ahead and talk to your Mother.
It’s never too late. It’s never too late to talk to your Mother.
Little Vikki said, “I’ll make you a trade.
Here’s a nickel for the call you made.”
You can tell me the weather if you’ve got a flair
and put the yellow feather back in my hair.”
So they put the old Victrola and the rotary phone
on a worn out blanket on a flattened stone.
And for the price of a call or a hi-five
two old friends were trying to survive.
By talking to each other, just by talking to each other
it’s never too late, it’s never too late to talk to your mothe
…talk ...you got to keep connected
Talk to your brother, go ahead and talk to your mother,
it’s never too late, it’s never too late to talk to each other
Talk to your brother, go ahead and talk to your mother,
it’s never too late, it’s never too late to talk to each other
talk.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in Heaven
hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come thy will be done
on Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
for Thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory
forever Amen.

Breaking Faith

I Keep Breaking Faith
In the darkness, in the coldness, in the stillness in my soul
In the silence, in the violence, I am hungry to be whole
I can see you, I can feel you, I can let you in my heart
I can heal you, I can hurt you, I can let things fall apart
I keep breaking faith with the one I love
I keep breaking faith with the one who gives me a piece of the sun
I keep breaking trust with the one who trusts me
I keep breaking trust with the one who gives me a piece of the sun
In the darkness, in the coldness, in the stillness in my soul
In the silence, in the violence, I am hungry to be whole
I can see you, I can feel you, I can let you in my heart
I can heal you, I can hurt you, I can let things fall apart
I keep making love with the one i love
I keep making love with you
I keep making love with the one i love
I keep making love with you
